Samhain, (Celtic: “End of Summer”) also spelled Samain,

In ancient Celtic religion, one of the most important and sinister calendar festivals of the year. At Samhain, held on November 1st, the world of the gods was believed to be made visible to humankind, and the gods played many tricks on their mortal worshipers; it was a time fraught with danger, charged with fear, and full of supernatural episodes. Sacrifices and propitiation of every kind were thought to be vital, for without them the Celts believed they could not prevail over the perils of the season or counteract the activities of the deities.

The Festival of Samhain marked the end of the Celtic year and the beginning of the new one.

The Sun has descended into the realm of the underworld, the forces of the underworld were in the ascendancy. The lord of the underworld, unfettered from the control of the sun, now walked the earth and with him travelled all those other creatures from the abode of the dead.

Jupiter in Cancer is all about abundance and prosperity in matters that nurture our soul. The Moon and Saturn in Pisces might bring their part of nostalgia to the past. The Sun and Mars in Scorpio continue the quest of exploring the unconscious, helped in their task by the Black Moon.

With the moon in Taurus and Venus in Libra, all is matter of feelings, romantic relationships, art and creation... but also instinct, senses and materialization of projects.

The Sun in Scorpio is surrounded by the ascendant and the Black Moon boosting the underworld diving in the sign. Here we are still dealing with emotions, fears, dreams, traumas from the past and inhibition (Lilith).

Mars and Mercury are team mates by entering the wise sign of Sagittarius. Mercury is in exile in the opposite sign of the Gemini and will bring its part of knowledge, wisdom and something lacking in our spiritual life.

Mars in Sagittarius represents the intense zeal of achieving a purpose, and the possibility to sacrificing oneself for a bigger cause.

The North Node represents an evolution in our consciousness and in our soul. It's presence in Pisces (the last sign of the Zodiac, house 12) makes this a period which is deeply mystical and spiritual. It is like a call to connect to the unseen world – and at that time of the year to our ancestral lineage.
