New Moon in Capricorn, 13th January 2021

Updated: Jan 12, 2021

6am CET, Malta

"If you seek order it becomes a principle, an idea, a formula, but if you actually understand totally the disorder of your everyday life and not run away from it, not try to cover it up, not try to suppress it, but observe it, look at it with your whole heart and mind, then out of that comes an extraordinary sense of order which is living, moving, that has a quality of vitality, vigor."

J.Krishnamurti – Inward Revolution

The Beauty of Disorder

Capricorn does not accept the world as it is. It wants to impose upon the world some kind of ideal. In Capricorn's mind the world will always need to be protected from the irruption of the unknown. Lawmakers have fried their brains trying to account beforehand for every possible situation so that the 'social contract' is upheld. Capricorn is the astrological locus of the security that the mind continuously seeks in order. But the unknown will always come, and when it does, it brings a beautiful disorder. Beautiful because it leads us out of the abyss of illusion and thus gives us, if we are willing, access to unlimited energy to move beyond ourselves.

This is astrologically expressed by the move of Jupiter and Saturn out of Capricorn into Aquarius.

The need for upholding the 'social contract' is now a matter of change, not of protection. Jupiter and Saturn here seem to emphasise the great dilemma between individual freedom and social order. But this is a fake dilemma, for any order that does not grow out of the inner well-being of the individuals comprising the society, is only an attempt at hiding disorder.

The Dawn of a Dream

A true dream is one that is nurtured and loved in the present. It is not a matter of achievement or self-enhancement. That is ambition, one of Capricorn's greatest traps. A dream, a true dream, however, unifies the being, because it requires that everything that is not real be laid aside. A true dream naturally brings about action, careful and brave action, action with meaning and conscious timing; and therefore order, inner harmony.

The keyword for this New Moon, beginning of the Chinese New Year, is “New”. Something is

being born. It is a motivating and inspiring NM, even though for most of us it is, at the very least,

difficult. The no-nonsense posture of Capricorn, Pluto's conjunction to the New Moon, the Uranian and Martian conjunction in a square aspect to the conjunction Saturn, Jupiter, Mercury and in a trine with Venus; the square aspect of Neptune and the N.Node... anyway you get the point. These are really significant aspects, as clear, sharp, and complex as they come.

How do we balance this pressure?

By taking an uncompromising look at what has been pinning us down, and a taking a sincere and

simple inventory of what potential we do not allow ourselves to manifest because of those dead

weights. It is likely that something will happen, a realisation, an event, that will reinstill a lost

confidence, a lost joy, a lost love. Be there when it happens. It might spark a revolution. Pay close attention to the illusions that the mind will bring before you about others and your reality; resentment, paranoia, self-aggrandisement, impulsiveness. See through the mind's illusions. Instead, put your imagination to work, so you can make the best out of this rare boost of vigor that is presently available.

To conclude I would like to offer a translation of the last verses of the song Amico Assoluto

(Absolute Friend) from Italian artist Renato Zero, to be found in the album Figli del Sogno

(Children of the Dream):

May our hard work enrich us,

And bring us to you again:

Fly high! Fly high! Oh Dream!

Without pride, without fear.

Come back, have no shame,

For you do have your weapons.

Challenge us to battle the darkness within,

And make it out of the abyss.

Warm these winds with

Peace, sincerity, and a music new,

That we might relate to ourselves

This suspended dream,

Abandoned half-way through.

A man knows that there is

a beautiful way.

Let's meet each other there,

At the dawn of a dream...

(scroll all the way down to listen to the song if you feel it)

In the Osho Zen tarot cards we find this wonderful card that matches the vibrations of this period. It harmonizes with the text above; 'A time to heal', a time to 'drop our masks' and 'realize the truth', our oneness with all surroundings.

“This naked figure sits on the lotus leaf of perfection, gazing at the beauty of the night sky. She knows that "home" is not a physical place in the outside world, but an inner quality of relaxation and acceptance. The stars, the rocks, the trees, the flowers, fish and birds - all are our brothers and sisters in this dance of life. We human beings tend to forget this, as we pursue our own private agendas and believe we must fight to get what we need. But ultimately, our sense of separateness is just an illusion, manufactured by the narrow preoccupations of the mind.”

10

"Humanity is depicted here as a rainbow of beings, dancing around the mandala of the earth with their hands joined together in joy and gratitude for the gift of life. This card represents a time of communication, of sharing the riches that each of us brings to the whole. There is no clinging here, no grasping. It is a circle without fear of feelings of inferiority and superiority.

When we recognize the common source of our humanity, the common origins of our dreams and longings, our hopes and fears, we are able to see that we are all joined together in the great miracle of existence. When we can combine our tremendous inner wealth to create a treasure of love and wisdom that is available to all, we are linked together in the exquisite pattern of eternal creation."

In the Marseille tarot cards we have the wheel of fortune taking hold of the number 10, and the magician occupying the number 1. Another card in the Osho Zen tarot cards is Harmony for the number 10.

All these cards are positively pointing towards an evolution of life,

we have all the odds in our favour to find truth,

act upon it to find a fraction of the essence within us,

essence that will boost us in the direction to heal,

healing that will locate our individual powers,

which in turn can be transformed into a collective one,

to bring true change that will benefit the whole.

Card of the moment : Nine of Clouds in the Osho Zen Tarot Cards : Sorrow

Sorrow describes an image of Ananda – a cousin and disciple of Gautam Buddha. He was with Buddha continuously, helping when he needed it for forty-two years. When Buddha died, stories were told that Ananda was still by his side and crying. Other disciples punished him for misunderstanding: Buddha died as a mission, he should have been happy. But Ananda said, “You misunderstood. I cry not because of Him but because I cry for myself, because for many years I have been with Him but still have not achieved enlightenment. ” Ananda stayed up all night, meditating deeply with his feelings of pain and sadness. The next morning, it was said that he was enlightened. A time of great sadness is likely to be a great transformation. But for transformation to take place, we have to go deep into the root of our pain and experience it without blame or self-pity.

Osho Zen Tarot Card Book

To unfold and work on our dream, our purpose, most of the times we have to be put in a situation of sorrow, a situation where we have to find the beauty of disorder. This is where we become alert, a moment when we have the opportunity to make lemonade. During these moments of sorrow and pain, we find access to our hearts, to our awareness. At that point as Osho puts it our "misery disappears", the dream is in action.

In the Marseille Tarot Cards on the other hand we have the Hermit holding the number 9 ...

Here we see an old man, standing on a mountain peak, carrying a staff in one hand and a lit lantern containing a six-pointed star in the other. In the background is a mountain range.

His lantern is the Lamp of Truth, used to guide the unknowing, his patriarch's staff helps him navigate narrow paths as he seeks enlightenment and his cloak is a form of discretion."

So; all is clear, we are nearing an end of a cycle, one of our individual path and another of a collective karma cleansing. Let's keep in mind to stay patient and use our awareness to understand. This is the beginning of a new year, with the metal OX as a mascot for the Chinese Zodiac. He is angered easily... wink wink.
